In a two-part course series on psychosomatic osteopathy with Torsten Liem, effective practical approaches for treating complex complaints and dysfunctional soma-physiological-experiential context patterns in a clinical-osteopathic setting are taught.<\/p>\n

The main goal of this two-part course series is to convey integral, practice-relevant diagnostic and treatment approaches and new perspectives in the clinical application of osteopathy. On the one hand, advanced approaches and techniques for osteopathy are offered, which expand the clinical framework and the “toolbox” of the practicing osteopath. On the other hand, new perspectives, principles, and models make it possible to identify and link further clinically relevant factors regarding health and allostasis that have not been considered before. Therefore, we do not speak of a primary somatic dysfunction, but of soma-physiological-experiential context dysfunction patterns that are considered in the diagnosis. We also consider which resources maintain the existing balance and which changes are possible for the patient with which osteopathic approaches at a given time. <\/p>\n

The entire course series is designed to improve and expand diagnostic and therapeutic approaches for challenges and complaints encountered in practice. These include cognitive, limbic, neurovegetative, immunological, biochemical, homeostatic, and allostatic processes, the consideration of sensorimotor, vital, emotional, mental, and spiritual components of consciousness, new and expanded palpatory approaches, the inclusion of the biographical life path and developmental lines for clinically relevant osteopathic approaches, the consideration of multimodal and multidimensional resources that can be activated during treatment, and skills for co-regulation of patients to guide them into a dynamic state of balance and flow. <\/p>\n

Between the two course parts, Basic 1 and 2, approximately 30-minute small group work sessions take place every two weeks.<\/p>\n
