Chronic pelvic pain in men in the healthcare system

The course deals with the osteopathic treatment of chronic pelvic pain.
The first part looks at the osteopathic diagnosis of pelvic pain. This is based on the classification of urologists and pain centers.
The second part deals with various specific treatments in practice. Together, the treatment approaches are adapted to the patient.
The aim of this workshop is to provide osteopaths with tools for the treatment of chronic pelvi-perineal pain.

Chronic pelvi-perineal pain (CPPS)

  • Definition of
  • Musculoskeletal CPPS and its anatomy
  • What are the causes of CPPS?
  • Who refers patients with CPPS to us?
  • How should the findings be interpreted?
  • Current treatment of CPPS in hospital
  • Techniques of osteopathic treatment
  • Osteopathic treatment approaches
  • Case studies

 

Neurological pain, prostate and bladder pain

  • Pathologies of the symptoms
  • Medical treatments
  • Palpation of the nerves
  • Osteopathic treatment techniques
  • Case studies

 

OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE

At the end of the course, students should be able to:

  • Care of a patient with uro-prostatic complaints
  • Development and application of a treatment plan specifically designed for men’s health
  • Safe application of specific osteopathic techniques tailored to men’s health issues.

The seminar concludes with an examination in the form of multiple-choice questions.

Yun Kim de Montebello (FRA)
Yun Kim de Montebello is a trained osteopath. She has been researching the osteopathic treatment of CPPS in men for several years. She is also a doctoral candidate in clinical psychology, psychopathology and psychoanalysis.
