OBJECTIVES

  • Introduction to the methodology of Lien Mécanique Ostéopathique (LMO) with a focus on the spine and rib cage
  • Presentation of various osteopathic lesions that frequently occur in idiopathic scoliosis
  • Establishment of relevant diagnostic tools: specific tension tests and inhibitory balance tests for the primary lesion of scoliosis
  • Provision of new osteopathic solutions and a protocol for monitoring scoliosis in newborns (pre-scoliosis) and in children and older people

 

PROGRAM

Day 1

Morning

  • Presentation of the concepts of LMO
  • Physiology and pathology of osteopathic lesions, total lesions and primary lesions
  • Tension tests, inhibitory balance tests and recoil tests
  • General examination and treatment of the posterior rib cage (scapula and ribs)

Afternoon

  • Osteopathic approach to idiopathic scoliosis
  • Review of the basic knowledge and possible causes of scoliosis
  • The 3 critical levels of scoliosis: skull, rib cage and pelvis
  • Presentation of clinical cases
  • Diagnosis and osteopathic treatment of pre-scoliosis in newborns

 

Day 2

Morning

1st Skull

  • Examination and treatment of specific scoliosis lesions at the skull level
  • Cranial vault, torsion, vestibular imbalance and cranio-cervical lesions

Afternoon

2nd Thoracic spine

  • Examination and treatment of specific lesions of the thoracic spine
  • Intraosseous vertebral torsion, rib deformation and diaphragmatic attachments

 

Day 3

Morning

3rd Pelvis

  • Examination and treatment of specific scoliosis lesions in the pelvic area
  • Filum terminale, intraosseous coxa torsion and leg length difference

Afternoon

  • The 4 regulation points of the posture system
  • Protocol for the treatment and monitoring of scoliosis in children and adults
  • Demonstration of a scoliosis treatment in practice

Lecturer/s

Eric Prat (DO) FRA
Eric Prat is the co-author of the book Mechanical Link. Together with Paul Chauffour DO, he developed the treatment concept of osteopathic Mechanical Link, treatment with Recoil techniques, the inhibition test and the provocation test for examining the patient. He is an international lecturer in the LMO series.
