Course content

This course provides a comprehensive overview of the most common gynecological conditions that can affect fertility and their integrative treatment options from an osteopathic perspective. The focus is on endometriosis, uterine fibroids and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), including their impact on fertility. The course combines theoretical knowledge with practical osteopathic techniques to support reproductive health.

Course content:

  1. Anatomical basics:
    Brief review of the anatomy of the female genital tract and the most common causes of infertility.
  2. Endometriosis:
    • Understanding and describing the pathology, classification of lesions, causes and symptoms
    • Osteopathic goals for women with endometriosis
    • Endometriosis and fertility: causes, medical approaches to fertility treatment and osteopathic management
    • Dealing with chronic pelvic pain
    • Strategies and recommendations on lifestyle, diet, etc.
    • Osteopathic techniques for support
  3. Uterine fibroids:
    • Understanding and description of the pathology, classification of fibroids, causes and symptoms
    • Osteopathic goals for women with fibroids
    • Fibroids in relation to fertility, pregnancy and birth
    • Osteopathic techniques and approaches
  4. Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS):
    • Understanding and describing the pathology, causes and symptoms
    • Integrative approach to the treatment of PCOS
    • Osteopathic goals for women with PCOS
    • Specific osteopathic techniques
  5. Further topics:
    • Requirements for fertility
    • Other causes of fertility problems
    • The hormonal control circuit (hormone axis)
    • Ovarian reserve and its significance
    • Medical and osteopathic treatment approaches to promote fertility
    • Repeated implantation failure
    • The osteopathic consultation for fertility problems
    • Symptothermal method and other diagnostic tools
    • Osteopathic causes of fertility disorders

Practical part:
An essential part of the course is the practical application of osteopathic techniques. The course includes demonstrations and supervised practice sessions. On the third day of the course, internal techniques and specific approaches for regulating the nervous system are presented.
