Why do we often make similar decisions in osteopathy – even though physiology differs significantly?
In daily practice, we often describe findings very precisely. Less clear is how we weigh them and what consequences we derive from them.
Gender and life stage alter central physiological processes – including hormonal dynamics, tissue behavior, pain processing, sleep quality, stress regulation and metabolism. These factors influence how resilient a system is, how it responds to stimuli and how symptoms develop.
This course focuses on understanding these differences concretely and making them applicable for clinical decisions.
The focus is on:
• how gender and life stage affect central physiological processes
• how hormonal dynamics influence tissue, pain processing, sleep and regeneration
• how I classify and weigh findings in the context of these changes
• how I derive concrete decisions regarding intervention, dosage and prioritization
A central component of the course is practical application:
• Working on concrete case studies from daily practice
• Comparing different decision pathways for similar findings
• Transferring to your own patient constellations
• Deriving concrete interventions and their dosage
The goal is to make your own clinical decision-making clearer, more differentiated and directly applicable in daily practice.
Dr. phil. Christine Lohr, M.Sc. East. is a sports scientist with a PhD and an osteopath with her own practice. Her focus is on clinical decision-making and the integration of current physiological evidence.
She publishes scientific work, serves as a reviewer for international sports medicine journals, and develops conceptual approaches for a reflective, evidence-based osteopathic practice.
