Overview of the Mentoring Day with Pascale-Julie Robinson

Throughout the day, we will have the opportunity to welcome newborns, infants, and toddlers for osteopathic assessments as part of the teaching. This allows Pascale-Julie Robinson to demonstrate her therapeutic approach when working with children.

While books provide valuable theoretical information, working with children is an experience that must be lived. Through her teaching, Pascale-Julie Robinson has learned that babies are the true “teachers”, and participants gain the greatest insight into paediatric osteopathy by working directly with them.

Key learning objectives

  1. Participants will learn how to take a case history tailored specifically to paediatric patients. This includes capturing relevant medical and developmental history in a way that takes into account the specific needs and communication styles of children and their families.
  2. Participants will learn how to carry out an objective assessment tailored to the child’s age group. The focus is on age-appropriate examination strategies that ensure an accurate understanding of the child’s condition while creating a comfortable environment for young patients.
  3. Participants will learn how to create a treatment plan tailored to each child and carry out an osteopathic intervention with children. This includes developing individual therapeutic strategies and applying hands-on techniques suitable for paediatric cases.
  4. The programme covers how integration techniques can be adapted to the specific needs of paediatric patients, ensuring that each intervention matches the child’s developmental stage and comfort level.
  5. Finally, participants will learn how to conclude each appointment by giving parents advice, practical exercises, and positioning guidance related to the treatment, supporting effective care beyond the clinical setting.

After each osteopathic assessment and treatment, there will be a discussion round to better understand the approach used.
