Course content

This seminar is aimed at all osteopaths who want to understand neurological regulation in their daily work with infants, children, and adolescents and further improve the success of osteopathic treatment.

Content includes the following topics:

  • Fundamentals of neuroembryology
  • Fundamentals of neurophysiology
  • Motor skills as a key to brain development
  • Importance of sleep for the nervous system
  • Stress axes and their effects
  • “3-month colic”
  • Excessively crying infants
  • Neurodiversity (ADHD and autism)
  • Learning disabilities and
  • Depression in children and adolescents

The latest scientific findings are placed in an osteopathic context to derive an integrative medical treatment concept. In addition to neurophysiological backgrounds (child development, vertical maturation, perception, concentration skills, and neuroplasticity), there will be plenty of time and space to apply what has been learned in practice.

Both direct techniques for the central nervous system and indirect techniques for treating childhood organs and hormonal cycles will be presented and implemented in a practical manner.

The weekend is rounded off with sleep physiology and its importance for the central nervous system, the significance of non-verbal communication, the consideration of emotional stability, and stress reduction in children and teenagers.

Experience in treating children is helpful but not a mandatory requirement for participation.
